| The west and southwest regions of Tucson make up a beautiful area encompassing both Saguaro National Park West and Tucson Mountain Park. These nature preserves provide magnificent sunset and mountain views for residents. There are many ways to connect with nature such as taking a scenic drive through Gates Pass , visiting the nationally acclaimed Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, hiking and biking. The Tohono O'odham Nation borders this part of Tucson to the southwest, and is the location of the Kitt Peak National Observatory. |

| This area is also steeped in history and is the location of the famous "A" Mountain. At one time this mountain was known as Sentinel Peak, but in 1916 the letter A was painted on the side of the mountain by U of A students, and it has since gone by its new name. "A" Mountain is the location for Tucson's annual Independence Day fireworks show. Another side of Tucson's history is its role in Western films. A visit to Old Tucson Studios, located in Tucson Mountain Park, will give you a taste of this part of the city's history. The beauty of this area has attracted JW Marriott to make Tucson the location of its world class Starr Pass spa and golf resort. Homes in the west and southwest areas of Tucson range in price, style and size. |
