Oro Valley

The town of Oro Valley is a scenic retreat, at the base of Pusch Ridge, nestled in the foothills of the western edge of the Santa Catalina Mountains, six miles north of the Tucson city limits. At an elevation of 2,620 feet, it covers over 34 square miles, and is a resort destination with several championship golf courses, resort hotels, retirement communities and country clubs.

The Oro Valley Arts Council brings the community together with seasonal arts festivals and entertainment, such as the Oro Valley Jazz Festival, the Oro Valley Festival of the Arts, and a concert series by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Just east of Oro Valley is Catalina State Park, a desert oasis preserved for hiking, biking, horseback riding and bird watching.
The recently acquired Steam Pump Ranch, is being restored and will be preserved as a historic landmark. On 15 acres, it includes a ranch house and other buildings started by immigrant George Pusch in the 1870's. Its name is derived from Mr. Pusch using a steam pump to provide water.
